FREDÉRIC
LAROQUE
Born into a family of musicians in 1964, Frédéric Laroque began playing the violin at a very early age, showing a real precociousness for it. After completing his musical studies at the CNSM in Paris, where he was awarded a Premier Prix de Musique de Chambre in Jean Hubeau's class in 1981 and a Premier Prix de Violon in Gérard Jarry's class, Frédéric Laroque continued his studies in the United States, at Bloomington University, where he benefited from the teaching of such great masters as Henryk Kowalski, Franco Gulli, Menahem Pressler, Julius Starker and Arthur Grumiaux. On his return to France, he joined the Orchestre de l'Opéra de Paris and was soon appointed Violin Super Soliste. In 2004, Frédéric Laroque joined the Gaudi Quartet, with whom he performs regularly in France and abroad. Alongside his career as an instrumentalist, Frédéric Laroque teaches at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris.
